Mr. Teklemariam was born in Merabete, Shoa province in Ethiopia. He went to Kotebe Haile Sellassie 1st School and then went to Holy Trinity Cathedral to study Theology. He later went to Greece to finish his studies.
He worked for Ministry of Education for a while and then joined Ethiopian Airlines in Marketing Division. He served the Airline in various positions including:
Area Manager - Nigeria
Area Manager - Sudan
Area Manager - China (The first Area Manager for China)
Area Manager - Greece
In 1980 he migrated to the USA with his family. He lived in Boston, Massachusetts for a while and later moved to Washington, DC and bought a house and settled for good. He established and served in various community and Ethiopian church associations. He is survived by his three children, all of whom are graduates of top schools in the USA. A doctorate degree from MIT in physics, an MBA from Pace University and the last one BBA from NYU.
He was a proud father, a great colleague, a patriot, a great scholar and most of all a great friend. He will be missed by all of us.
